What is Solcoseryl Jelly/Ointment and when is it used?
contain a haemodialysate from calves'blood to promote healing. The products are suitable for treating minor and poorly healing wounds and ulcers of the skin.
Solcoseryl Jelly speeds up healing. The jelly is particularly used for treating leg ulcers, pressure sores in bedridden patients and burns.
When must Solcoseryl Jelly/Ointment not be used?
in cases of hypersensitivity or allergy to parahydroxybenzoates (E210, E216,E218) which are present as preservatives.
When is care necessary in the use of Solcoseryl Jelly/Ointment?
No special care is necessary when used as instructed, Please inform your physician or pharmacist if:
- You are suffering from other illnesses
- have allergies or
- are taking other medicines (including those you have bought by yourself)
What are the possible side effects of Solcoseryl Jelly/Ointment?
To date no side effects have been observed with Solcoseryl Jelly/Oinment, after application of Solcoseryl Jelly an unplesant stinging may occur for a short time. This does not mean that the product should be discontinued.
Contraindications and cautions:
Solcoseryl should not be used in known hypersensitivity or allergy to protein-free extract of calf blood )
You must apply Solcoseryl only after the wound is cleaned with antiseptics. In treatment of contaminated wounds you must use antibiotics and antiseptics on the wound prior applying Solcoseryl (for 2-3 days).Treatment of weeping and deep wound should begin withSolcoseryl 10% jelly application. As soon as the process of epithelialization will cover damaged skin area and wound will stop weeping,you should begin applying Solcoseryl ointment.
