Ronaldo leaving Real Madrid to join Italian club Juventus
In order to unite with Italian club Juventus, Cristiano Ronaldo is going to leave Real Madrid, where it is believed to benefit the tax return of Portugal forward.
Ronaldo signed a deal of four years with Serie A champions. Juventus stated on Tuesday that they have paid 112 million euros ($131.5 million) to Ronaldo for the agreement.
The move ends up with a successful 9-year spell in Spain. This takes him further away from a tax scam case that might wind up costing the fine of over $20 million to the Portugal forward.
"These years with Real Madrid and in this city of Madrid have been possibly the happiest of my life," a statement given by Ronaldo in an open letter. He further states, "My only feeling is of an enormous gratitude for this club, for these fans and for this city. I can only thank them all for the love and affection I have received.”
"But I think the time has come to start a new phase in my life and that is why I have asked the club to accept my transfer. I feel that it is time, and I ask everyone, especially our fans, to please understand me."
